Race Against Time - Od grafiki po muzykę produkcja sugeruje, że jest znacznie starsza niż faktycznie. Na jedynej trasie bijemy własne rekordy dotarcia do mety. Po drodze na dwóch przejazdach kolejowych możemy oberwać szlabanem - ode mnie plus za taki detal. Nasz pojazd ma nierówne przyspieszenie i łatwo rozpędzić się niczym rakieta. Na szczęście pomagają bardzo dobre hamulce i brak poślizgów. Na dobry początek wyścigu na poboczu trasy mijamy nagrobek, potem jest też kilka znaków Atari: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fO3oHW098kc
Helicops przyjemnie zaskoczyło mnie muzyką, obrazek z gry sugerował raczej coś w stylu maksymalnie prostej produkcji przepisanej z listingu w czasopiśmie. Do gry potrzeba minimum 2 graczy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CqsPalh4SNw

Race Against Time najwyraźniej JEST starą grą, nie tylko tak wygląda :) - z opisu na pierwszym dysku Flopa można wyczytać, że to wcześniej niepublikowana pierwsza produkcja "legendarnej czeskiej firmy Fuco". Czyli chyba przełom lat 80. i 90.?
W Helicops przy włączonej opcji Airbrake można dzięki FIRE używać hamulca, co bardzo ułatwia sterowanie w pionie.

...also works well on my 800XL. Its a very good game, the best freeware Mahjong version (if we think of My Jong and Taifun). And its also very good, compared to the commercial versions:

Excuse me, but I think you're confusing these simple logical games in which you just have to connect the pairs of the same tiles to make them disappear with real mahjong, which is a different, much harder game for four players. This is true that these mentioned games use standard mahjong pieces, but it's everything they have in common with the real thing.

I am not confusing these simple logical games with Mahjong (or better: Mahjong Solitaire). It has become a standard that such "Memory" like versions are also named Mahjong. There are hundreds or thousands of versions on the PC available (and surely also on Amiga, ST, PS1, PS2, PS3, XBOX, XB360, N64, GC, Wii, Wii-U, NDS, PSP, Vita, etc. etc.), where you have just to connect pairs (like in Memory) and these versions are still named Mahjong. Visit Google and use search string Mahjong - you will receive not only lots of results for Mahjong Solitaire but also for these memory-like Mahjong versions, which we have on the A8...
[Besides, I really hate these four player Mahjong Solitaire versions and never play them, they are also known under different names, e.g. my mother has it on her PC under the name Hong Kong Mahjong. In Japan, China, Korea and some other countries you play Mahjong / Mahjong Solitaire with real persons and not on the computer, it is played with money, just like Poker...]

Allright then - everything's fine as long as everybody knows the difference between these games, because their naming might be confusing. To be honest I also don't like the standard mahjong played with four people due to very complicated rules (in my opinion - I've watched a lot of anime in which it's played and still can't understand them all), but I like most of the solitaire versions - finding a pair is much easier than trying to get a high score hand by discarding the unwanted tiles. I must also agree that Mahjong XE looks very promising, so I'll definitely give it a try.

Ten mahjong wygląda rewelacyjnie, szkoda tylko że logicznie jest coś porypane i nie działa tak, jak powinien. Zaznaczam na właściwych pozycjach dwa takie same klocki (z takimi samymi numerkami) ... i nic. Szkoda, bo gra była by nawet fajna a tak, to w zasadzie nadaje się do skasowania.

oczywiście, tylko pytanie po co zmieniać zasady w klasycznej grze. Da się grać, tylko nie wszystko jest przewidywalne i w pewnym momencie traci to sens. A szkoda, bo mojej ładniejszej połowie gra się spodobała ... no i niestety ma powody do narzekania ;)

Mahjong XE does not follow the original Mahjong rules (its not enough to have a pair!) - its a variant of it, read the rules here: http://atari.fandal.cz/stuff.php
You may ask why the rules are changed here ?!? Well, there have been similar versions on other computers already (Amiga I guess) that did have these changed rules. On the A8 we have Zador and Zador II by KE-Soft with the same changed Mahjong rules... (the tiles must be connected by a [theoretical / virtual] line, that must not be folded more than 2x).
And err, Flop magazine afaik uses DOS II+D medium/enhanced density, not compatible to DOS 2.5. Use MakeATR 0.6 to extract the .COM files onto the PC; on the A8 use e.g. MyDOS to copy these files onto a standard 90k disk...
