Hatari with Midi for Windows v1.0, March 10th 2021
--------------------------------------------------

Release under Freeware license.

This is the initial test release of the Hatari with Midi for Windows setup.

This assumed you have installed and run Hatari before. If you havent, please follow the Hatari installation instructions at Hatari web site.
Also configure the Midi In to point to a valid file and file location where you have read and write permissions, for example c:\tmp\midi.in.
Enable Midi and save the configuration as the default Hatari configuration.

This setup can be done in any recent version of Hatari (2.1 or newer) as we are only want to create the Hatari configuration file initially.

1. Install the "Hatari Midi Mapper" by running setup.exe and follow the instructions.

2. Start Hatari Midi Mapper.

3. Select Midi Input. This should list your available Midi devices on Windows. If you dont have any Midi installed, please install a
loopback Midi driver such as for example "LoopBe".

4. Output should show the Midi In file you configured Hatari, for example c:\tmp\midi.in

5. Hatari Input always shows "Hatari MIDI out: \\.\pipe\Hatari". This is the communication channel used internally for Hatari Midi out.

6. MIDI Output should be set to your Midi device that you want to Hatari Midi out to be using. As default it will always be set to
the Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth but if you have additional Midi devices such as Midi interfaces or the MT-32 Synth Emulator, it will
show up here.

7. Press Start. Hatari Midi mapper is now ready.

8. Start the Hatari version located in this file archive. This Hatari version is based on 2.4.0 snapshot from Feb 27 2021.
It is specifically changed to send and recevice Midi data to the Hatari Midi Mapper.

9. Run your favorite Midi program in Hatari and it should be redirected to your selected Midi devices in Windows.

As this is the first test versions, things might not always work all the time. If something stops working, try to reproduce it and report
it back to us. It could for example be a specific Midi song or device that is not working that can be possible to fix.
If the Midi stops working and not starting again, pressing "Stop" and then "Start" in Hatari Midi Mapper and then restart Hatari should work
to get things going again.
