"I think this type of writing makes you receive a negative response. You value a man who dares to do things differently than you want or don't want to do a thing in your way. And you then ironically write "god" about him."

Back then I just did ask friendly and gently. You only can guess how people are, if you exchanged some Mails. After asking 2 or 3 times i accepted that he will not do the needed stuff. And afterwards I realized that I must had have stung a beehive. How could I even dare to ask for something more perfect, if you understand.
That's why I don't feel attacked by him. But he is one of those who put my words down, just for their own self righteousness . So normally, I wouldn't talk to them , but if they use words for putting people down, it's everyone's right to use self defense .

The main point is that they don't really like to do coding for the Atari, or Atari related pograms. It 's to show "Hey, I'm the best" cause.

Luckily not all do like that. and things get done.

Jester?:-)

    Yes C isn't , It's a very precise E# , due to the used sample shift.
Normally RMT cannot play the note that precisely.

    You mean "Multi Sampling"?
One Instrument is recorded several times, to avoid the "overdrive" of the used sample.

    My answer was for @Mk.
    Protracker hasn't multisample instruments.
Of course this was done for avoid overpitching samples, so good instrument should have one sample per ~2-3 tones, recorded in intervals on best sample rate.
Of course best option is to have one sample per tone, but then file size can be huge :)

No to myślę, można podsumować offtop o muzyce tak:

You reflect what is actually always happening.

You see the work I did. But you don't see the cause.

Also, I'm a bit proud to find a solution to take all obstacles to show the needed part.
BUT!!!!! You don't see the intention.
The Intention always was to have the Atari put the best sound with the least usage of CPU power.

The worst part of recognition is , if people only see or hear and just judge, instead of thinking about the potential that is given there.

The fucked up part is that no one cares for doing development tools, to get further into that directions.

The real part is that people create C64 Software, because that development software grows by people who want to push the C64.

"If your intention was show us capability of POKEY I missed that part."

    That's it.

The tune isn't really as wrong as you claim. There are well parts and there are parts that need a re work.
But nor in RMT, because RMT denies further development.
Vice Versa, you could show me a tune that you like, It don't need 5 seconds of the tune to find a wrong note in it. This is the limited chiptune thing , Songs get intentional detuned to sound interesting.
Even millions of SID tunes sound wrong. Even the 16 bit resolution didn't help, where people tried to do special sounds.
Mainly SID tunes sound "in tune" if you get a modern remake of them .
So where is the point to measure what "in tune is and what not" ? Heavy Metal freaks don't even know what a tune is...
As long a the taste of the listener is hit, he may like it.

Choć i tam znajdziesz pełno akordów septymowych, zmniejszonych, zwiększonych, nonowych i setkę innych.

"Music for "Another Pong" is your job, right? I like it :-) "

    Yes, and thanks.
Someone explained the problem with the pitch issue when using samples. The synth is build on the "technique" to do something like Multisampling. Which means that the timing difference between both "Filter" voices gets adjusted to have more depending waveforms from Octave to Octave.

"I recommend: go that way with your experiments and no one will complain. "

You might know that from my side , I never left the thread of PoP. You might see that they use PC Programs for building the source for the game.
How would you explain that the absolutely 1st projects that had to be done were fully working development tools for "procedural graphics" "sound programming" and "software development" for the Atari?

OK. But most game music isn't harmonic. There are some tunes that use 16 Bit for the melodic part, but then the volume mixing distorts, because the Instruments were too loud, and basses are just disharmonic by the limits of POKEY.
Sorry, for me there is no base of discussion when it comes to "in tune" or not, if the rest of the tune is just disharmonic. Seems the only point why you judge about the used tones is that the disharmonic sounds have been reduced.
Heck, even the Music of ToKi on the Amiga is a lot detuned. People like it that way, because it reminds of SID sound.
The really nice tuned music on a NES sounds childish to them.
    It's really weird.

@emkay: to be fair, there is right harmony in "Another Pong" for example. I do not like this music itself, but I think it's ok, and I see someone can like it. I think it's very good idea, with sounds of pong game at the beginning, which are mixed next with music. I like this idea.
I don't want to analyse every music created by you. I believe there are better and worst songs created by you, and maybe there are some which I like - maybe even very much. X-8 music is yours? If yes, then I like it very much:-)

Pokey is not a musician, pokey is just a device. You can create good sounding music on the Pokey, and disharmony sounds which sounds terrible. It depends of you. For example a guitar allows you to play detuned sounds even if you have good tuned instrument. Or better example: on the violin you must hear sound and correct it even while playing if it is necessary. So you can't say the problem is Pokey, because Pokey is only device, and you have the skill to play on it or you don't have it.
I know the Pokey has restrictions. But if you decide to create music on it, then you must to know how to do it right on such device.

But by the way: three consecutive semitones played at the same time can't sounds good on any instrument or device.

How can people stand this? I'm asking this since decades.
There are two pitch unstable channels played, the sounds cross the pitches somewhere. And the resulting sound is played to run POKEY into the mixing distortion.

The worst case that can happen when using POKEY, and you like it. OK, it can get even worse , if someone add the gen 2 sound at 1.79MHz to it.
