@zbyti funny. As soon as the bass isn't interfering the melodic part, just being a bass as it should be, you guys don't like it. I wonder why that is. And please, don't tell again something of "detuning" or "Cacophony" . If you do that, you really should stop making music on any of those old chips.
zbyti OK , let's say you are right with my Robocop edit. How do you define "Cacophony"?
Different timing ? No, the timing is 100% correct. Different tuning ? No, it's 100% correct to POKEY's resolution.
Also, there is no experimental "something" in the tune.
I even did add things that POKEY people seem to like . Just like using POKEY's modulations, to shoot through the channels that builds "modulations" that cannot be out of tune, just by the fact that they tune things by the multiplexed resulting sounds.
Well, it doesn't sound great by the arrangement, that is rather experimental. Also, I had to search for what "cacophony" really is. Sometimes it can be really awful. But there are arrangements that divide people into "like" or "dislike" the stuff they listen to.
I really see a point here that is interrupting development on the Atari, caused by the fact that people don't like, what they don't understand. The similarities were to find in graphics, where the C64 shows "impossible" 3D with a very low framerate and tearing. And, because people don't like that, they don't do development that way for the Atari.
Also interesting You name the Remmake "cocky" . To me it sounds just not repressed. Just cool and fun to listen. I have this version also in my Car in the playlist. But I'd never get the idea of listening to any Chiptune there .
