Changing the waveform instead of the pitch/octave, sometimes work better.

A full controllable reverb would be even more fun...

This one could be virtually possible with gfx.

Sound is a "vocoder like" experiment.

Real Atari GFX (you know already) mixed with real Atari "possible in 1978" music ...

      Just for some demonstration purpose:

Differences in the emulation X ;)

      Altirra:

      SAP in the file.

Why does Altirra have this slowdowns, and why do most people not recognize it?

When you think, you have an idea, in RMT is sounds ok. But then in SAP it sounds really different.
IS there a patch available yet, for more accurate emulations?

@emkay: it depends on pokey DLL library. What SAP player do you use? Try to take apokeysnd.dll file from RMT and replace that one in your SAP player.

It would be more interesting to have the SAP Plugin working in RMT. Also the base frequency has to made clear: PAL or NTSC.
Really , the whole ambient suffers by that. To be honest. I created the instruments to sound better in the SAP. I know it is more accurate than the RMT libraries. But I'm not sure about the base frequency. It seems the RMT library is more correct with that.

You can experiment with replacing libs - here and there. They should be compatible (in terms of interface).

And a special edit for Altirra.

Well, it should be ~90% of replay accuracy , compared to the real thing, still different timing don't allow all possible soundstyles ... talking about triangle waves and so on...
All sounds are build on 64kHz . No usage of 1.79MHz clocking.
