Nie, no 1 MB rozumiem, ale 4 MB to już chyba przesada. Jak dla mnie to zbyt egzotyczne w 8-bitowcu. Podobnie jak turbo oparte na 16-bitowym procku. To jednak moje prywatne odczucia. Z miłą chęcią powitałbym turbinkę opartą szybciej taktowanym procku z małego Atari, czyli takie 6502c do 10 mhz.
Ten procesor właśnie coś takiego zapewnia, bo programów wykorzystującą tę jego tzw. "16-bitowość" za dużo nie ma. Większy z niego pożytek jako dopalonego 6502.
I would still be interested in the 1MB Microram upgrade, especially if it comes *without* any flash-chip (and without SDX). Just 1MB extra RAM and some switches would be enough.
Andreas, I think it's possible but I don't think that there's any point :) One of the reasons of creating Ultimate was a number of different standards of memory extensions - CompyShop, Rambo, etc. Ultimate was done to cover it all - delivering easy switching between them (including stock configuration 64KB - important for developers). SDX and other OS'es - like QMEG - come as a bonus - you don't have to use them :) Just switch "Stock OS" in menu and that's it :) Using flash was meant to avoid problems - first - space - 4 EPROMS would take a space - second: upgrading/changing - annoying with classic chips.
I understand love for physical switches, but I take such extensions would have to be designed - as past extensions simply didn't offer such functionality so someone would have to do it...
