Testing new Software. So a new thread is needed ;) dxRMT by rensoupp is the new software to have a Tracker that offers real tracker commands. Everything is in development.
Feel free to have a listen to the results :D
Reminder: The goal is to replay 4 channel Amiga modules...by resembling the digital samples using POKEY's features.
Someone able to make a recording from a real Atari with one POKEY ? Just for some comparision. The PWM timing is still some issue to solve. Note: POKEY HAS a fixed timing, and it works on all real machines the same. The point is to set the emulations 100 % to the "real hardware" timing.
Since dxRMT supports real Tracker commands. How about some proposals for conversions? The only restriction is that the MOD files have to be build on single instruments, not digitized parts of any kind of music....
as a tekkno connoisseur, I can tell you this ain't no bad, but one detail - the bass. if you could get this deep bass like in Makary's or Triace's songies, it'd work.
@pirx. Do you have a POKEY version of that tune ? This Thread is about the real thing, and to optimize it with programming . Double POKEY might be some regular stuff today, but it is cheating. Particular if one POKEY is equalizing the errors of the other. Also, you can do channel tricks on one POKEY that don't work on separated POKEYs. The tune is also based on 15kHz, so some "in tune" melodic part ends up in a low frequency range. And particular my latest conversion uses similar basses that sound like POKEY polycounter basses at 64kHz. That's why I used it. People want those pulse arpeggios.... I put them in.
