    @rosomak.
Thw whole tune is nice ;). Particular the main Instrument sounds correct.
It's just that the 1st part is nicer than expected.
Remember that the tune on the SID isn't really nice by the used style. It is designed to sound like "Rock", not "Classical Music".
Keep in mind that we don't have a Tracker that is supporting this directly. Editing while playing the tune would allow even more fine adjustments.
The LZSS Player makes demonstrations of the possibilities sharper.

    I totally agree.

I don't know if it's in good tune to reply "whole is nice", when being an author - by definition subjective to his creation ;-)
For me, percussion that enters at 51 secs destroys what was already built up, and later it intensifies even more and is stealing all foreground.
There must be a way to achieve something better than that with percussion?

Hm... here are two additional different versions.

and a more "PWM" version with more arpeggios, like the sid original

Imagine what could be possible with a POKEY supporting Tracker using all this stuff directly.

Here a visualisation of the main thing of the last tune.
It's actually building waves on a combination of Ring Modulation and Pulse Width Modulation.
And, as you might see, it is fully controllable.

    Also, what is this?
The development of POKEY music has done a "quantum leap" in the past year. The response is quite low.
But it costs a lot time to use RMT to get things done.
So, even if the results were impressive, things could be even a lot better, if a tracker existed, to set all sounds directly.

But all, you get is someone posting "cacophony" just by the taste of music, not judging on the real specs.

    pirx

It is a sum of "all"

I'm not a "professional" musician, so I had to learn things.
There is still the taste who makes a tune "like" or not "like".
Then there has been some software correction by time.
    -Pokey emulation upgrade
-notation table correction. (Did you notice the correct 440Hz
    tuning? )
-The LZSS player solves a lot bugs of RMT.
(filter setting skipping, timing problems, false pitch...)
But inside the RMT Editor you still have to fight with the
errors. This means, you have to change something, save it, use
the LZSS compressor, start Altirra, listen to the tune till the
part of changing. If it is not good, start with changing
    something in RMT...

So, what you hear in the LZSS player and played in Altirra, is 95% correct to the real thing.
    It's worth the hassle :)

Things would be so easy to reach with a supporting tracker for all this feautures. Particular fine tuning on dedicated positions of the tune.

Playing a little with "low pass" features and morphing sounds

Interesting part here is the "growing" on old projects, just by the better software that is getting available.
You might know that I did a "gazillion" test tunes in the past. So, even if it is a tremendously complex task to get things done running clean in the LZSS player, things look "quickly" .

Here are some more new results:

Still: Imagine what could be done with a real supporting software for all this.

    Do you like music?
This tune originally done by Rob Hubbard was build upon the SID's strength.

Sorry to say that, but this "snippet" is equal on the POKEY. Even if still the available software is the limiting factor.

The problem still is the methods to reach just normal levels by cruising around the software restrictions.

In this tune, the "Bass" resolution is 3 times better than the 8 bit resolution.

The problem here is that LZSS optimizes all RMT feaures, but RMT denies all 16 bit optimizations by just not supporting them.

    no.

You have to listen to every change while it is played.
For now it is a "blind audition" to edit the tunes to have them correctly played in the lzss player.
