   Na ostatnim SV stalem sie czlonkiem klubu ABBUC :-) dostalem poczta magazyn z pierwszego kwartalu 2013 + dyskietka. jakosc wydania swietna, teksty po niemiecku (kilka po angielsku), w tym numerze jest relacja ze zdjeciami z SV2012.
   
   jednym slowem... szkoda, ze nie wychodza juz papierowe czasopisma o tematyce malego atari.

   Czasy na tyle się zmieniły, że można by było spodziewać się czegoś w stylu Retro Gamera, a nie Bajtka czy Tajemnic Atari. Plus byłyby wałkowane oklepane tematy bo co nowego napisać można. Trzymaj wspomnienia i nimi się posiłkuj.

   A ja Wam powiem że to dziwne, bo niemieckiego nigdy się nie uczyłem, znam tylko "Hände hoch", ale coś tam rozumiem :) Ale to cecha technicznych tekstów, sporo jest wspólnego z angielskim.
   
   A po angielsku jest tylko regulamin konkursu na hardware jak mi się zdaje.

   ... też po pewnym SV byłem "członkiem" (abbuc) i stwierdzam, że szkoda, że owe przysyłane pocztą dyskietki działają wyłącznie z FDD. Odłożyłem je więc w szafie na stosik, no i tak sobie leżą ;) Taki jest właśnie skutek niedostosowania softu do aktualnie używanego hardware'u, lub oficjalnych standardów zaproponowanych przez Atari jakieś 30 lat temu ;)

   Widzisz, ludziska kupując aktualnie dostępny hardware nie zawsze mają możliwość załadowania hardcore'owo zakodowanej produkcji. I bardzo dobrze, bo może autor owego produktu uderzy dwa razy głową w ścianę i zastanowi się, czy aby wszystko jest ok ;)

    Pinowi chyba chodzi o to, że nie może programów uruchomić z czegoś innego niż dyskietka - w sensie skopiować ich na HDD i odpalić pod Spartą :)

    Well,
    first of all: I am not an Abbuc official, so I speak only for myself and do not give an official Abbuc opinion here... anyways, here is my personal / subjective opinion:
    
    You must remember that Abbuc was founded in 1985 and even today most members are from Germany (and/or german speaking countries, like Switzerland, Austria, etc.). Less than 20% of the Abbuc members are from english, polish, czech, french or spanish speaking countries. And err, more than 50% of the Abbuc members are older than 50 years (afaik 40% of the members are even older than 60 years), so don`t be surprised if not always the newest A8 hardware and/or software is used or supported and Abbuc acts quite conservative...
    
    In the Abbuc forum we have already discussed about the magazine being bi-langual (german end english), but a lot of members said that they do not speak nor understand english, so all texts would have to be released in both languages (which means the paper-magazine would have 50% german and 50% english texts, both with the same contents/subjects/topics). Of course this would also mean that if the Abbuc paper magazine has 40 pages, only 20 pages are in your prefered language (might it be english or german) and the rest might not be understandable...
    
    Another problem is that it is often not so easy filling the Abbuc magazine with content. The members do not send in so many texts nor software anymore (more and more software is therefore taken from the internet, the only exception is the Abbuc Software Contest / ASC, which is another reason why Abbuc wants this software to be released first in Abbuc magazine). So if we do not have enough german texts or articles, the situation would not get much better if we suddenly ask for english articles also. And quite often we would need a translator to translate german texts into english or vice versa (most article writers simply cannot do this).
    
    The disk comes in 130k format, just like in 1985 and also with DOS 2.5 on it - the used menu is from Bewesoft and it works only under DOS 2.5 ! But most programs should run under different DOS versions (or gamedos versions) too, just copy them onto another disk, harddisk or ATR image. With SIO2SD, SDrive, SIO2USB, SIO2PC one can even copy the disk into ATR as it is with DOS 2.5 and its menu and the magazine still runs fine (I know, because I always do that). Since the Abbuc magazine almost always uses 130k DOS 2.5 format this is also a reason why programs for the ASC must work from a 90k or at least 130k disk. Many of the before mentioned older Abbuc members still have a standard 1050 drive and thus cannot read higher formats than 130k...
    
    In other words: At Abbuc we already talked about the magazine being bi-langual (more than once!), but there has not a solution been found yet, so everything is continued unchanged. From time to time I try to present the short docs or manuals on the Abbuc disk-magazine for the programs in german and english, but I am not always able to do it and err, if the manual or text is very long then I am often too lazy to translate everything. Afaik, in magazine 112 we had Pani Basia... on the disk with full polish instructions (on other diskettes were also polish programs with polish instructions) and the german members could most likely not understand a word (so Wolfgang asked for a translation for the next magazine) - we will see what happens...
    
    In the end, Abbuc is a club for participation, if no-one participates and sends in articles, software, etc. then there is no magazine at all (or the mag. contains only software from the internet). Maybe some day we can reach a point where Abbuc magazine (or any other A8 magazine) is available in more than just one language...

    Here's a thought. Keep the magazine german only, but give access to a .PDF of the magazine in English (or whatever languages anyone feels like translating to). That would be most cost effective.

    @Wieczor - ze spartą to bym nie przesadzał, bo można odpalić z ATR. Warunek oczywiście jest jeden, że ktoś normalnie napisze program.

    By dobić gracza na tej samej dyskietce mamy uciekanie z cmentarza. Krzyże są widoczne przez mniej więcej 2 sekundy, po tym czasie zapada kompletna ciemność i trzeba dojść do wyjścia bez wdepnięcia w mogiłę:
    
    

    
    
    Tutaj poruszając wyobraźnię można dojść do wniosku, że groby rozmokły co sugerowały pioruny na początku. Na giełdzie komputerowej można sprzedawać nieświadomym jako Alone in the Dark.

    Nie, żebym się chwalił bo nie ma czym ale taki "efekt" jak ten z pierwszego intra Abbuca to napisałem w Basicu na ZX Spectrum jak miałem 8 lat (wtedy wydawał mi się oryginalny i niepowtarzalny:D ). Działało mniej więcej tak samo szybko.
    
    Wniosek jest taki, że każdy miał jakieś początki :)

    "Schatz-Hoehle" was a type-in listing (in Atari Basic) by Peter Bluemer, originally released in Happy Computer magazine. Later he programmed Submission, also released as a type-in listing in Happy Compter (luckily this was a ML-file). Besides, I like Schatzhoehle, since I typed it in around 1985 and I made it through the first level several times... -Andreas Koch.

    most of the older issues did not have any intros. The first Abbuc intro appeared in magazine number 6 (or 8?) and then losely on some other magazines. Somewhere around magazine 16-18 it became a standard and then every Abbuc magazine had the intro... but this info is just from my memory, have to look at the magazines again, to see if its fully true... (but I am sure, that magazines 1-5 did not contain any intros)...
